Rituale boomen. Doch die Kirchen haben ihr Monopol auf Rituale verloren. Der vorliegende Band identifiziert unterschiedliche Formen dieses rituellen Wandels und benennt Forschungsfelder bzw. -fragen: die Ritualdynamik wird am Beispiel der »Celestial Church« und einem evangelikalen Gottesdienst untersucht und ritualdynamische Prozesse werden anhand evangelischer und katholischer Trauungsrituale erforscht. Die Beiträge im dritten Abschnitt befassen sich mit der Entwicklung neuer Rituale und ritueller Elemente. Hierfür werden Erkenntnisse aus Familienkonstellationen für die Ritualpraxis oder die »religionshybride Festkultur« in den Blick genommen. Ritual dynamics are regarded paradigmatically in a thick description of the rites of the West-African "Celestial Church of Christ" and one Central European Evangelical worship service, whilst a look at Evangelical and Catholic wedding rites shows the diversity of ritual changes within "mainstream Christianity". Inner and post-Christian transformations and developments of rituals are identified, from family-based ritual practices to a culture of celebration that uses elements adopted from different religions.
